What is THCA?
THCA is a non-intoxicating cannabinoid found in raw, unheated cannabis plants. It is the precursor to THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the well-known psychoactive compound responsible for the 'high' associated with cannabis consumption. When cannabis is harvested and in its raw form, it contains high levels of THCA. Only through decarboxylation—typically by heat, such as smoking or vaping—does THCA convert into THC and become psychoactive.
